Welcome 2015!

It is hard to believe it is already time to welcome a new year!

I was planning to do my MAF test this morning. After I had breakfast, we decided to take down the tree and put away our Christmas decorations so before I knew it the clock said 11:30 and I kind of missed the window of time I will usually have to do my MAF tests in the following months. Instead, I took to the rail trail for a 4 mile run. It was cold (for me) wind chill of 19 degrees and very windy. There were only a few other people braving the wind with me.

Assabet River
The river is still running but our neighborhood pond already has a thin coating of ice. It will probably be solid enought for skaters by the end of the weekend.

I had a really hard time keeping my heart rate below 141 today. I wonder if the wind contributed at all. The more uncomfortable I was, the higher my heart rate crept up. I am glad that I started off the year outside - the river looked very pretty sparkling in the sun.

Tomorrow I will do my MAF test on the treadmill and post my results.

Happy New Year!
Kim
